WHEN & WHERE

The Rendezvous takes place September 8th and 9th at Minnetonka’s perfect venue: Lord Fletcher’s Old Lake Lodge on Lake Minnetonka, with ample slips, great food and drink plus plenty of room for land displays. Lord Fletcher’s Old Lake Lodge is located at 3746 Sunset Dr, in Spring Park, MN

FRIDAY ACTIVITIES

Cruise, Lunch / Presentation & Dinner

Friday’s cruise and lunch are always a highlight of the weekend and not to be missed! The day starts at 9:00 am with a captain’s meeting at Lord Fletcher’s docks. After a morning of cruising in our own boats, we will meet for lunch at Al & Alma’s. Melinda Nelson, author of “The Boathouses of Lake Minnetonka”, will be our special guest speaker at the luncheon. She will highlight some of the boathouses on the lake. Plenty of dock space is available. If you are traveling by car, their address is 5201 Piper Road, Mound MN. The cruise is free, but there is a $25 charge per person for lunch. After lunch, we will continue cruising Lake Minnetonka before ending up back at Lord Fletcher’s for our Rendezvous Dinner. Social hour begins at 5:00 pm, dinner will be served at 7:00 pm.

The club has made arrangements with Lord Fletcher’s to leave our boats at the docks overnight on Friday, however there is NO OVERNIGHT TRAILER PARKING.

SATURDAY ACTIVITIES

Boat Show on Lord Fletcher’s Docks

On Saturday, please launch your boat and arrive at Lord Fletcher’s docks by 8:00 AM. The boat show opens at 9:00 AM and runs until 3:00 PM, with awards at 2:30 PM. Please keep your boat at the dock until the end of the show so there is plenty to see for late-arriving spectators.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

We ask one thing: That you reach out to spectators and spread the word about the fun and camaraderie of vintage boating and the advantages of club membership.

It’s important that we continue to grow the club with more new members and the next generation. As you know, there is wide misunderstanding among the general public about the cost of buying a vintage boat and the cost and complexity of upkeep. The accessibility and fun of our hobby will be the focus of our outreach to publications and television stations as we make our PR push.

Lord Fletcher’s also provides you the perfect place to offer boat rides to people interested in the hobby. While we want to keep the docks full for the show, we are looking for a few volunteers that will offer short rides on an informal basis. If you’re willing to help with rides or other aspects of the event, please reach out to Scott McClelland at Rendezvous@lolcbc.org.

Please join us for a spectacular weekend on Lake Minnetonka. Let’s make 2023’s show the best ever!
