  • Belay: To make fast, secure, tie or stop.
  • Sea Room: The necessary space on the water for a vessel to maneuver safely.
  • Navigation: Trying to find the rocks
  • Piloting: Trying to stay off the rocks.
  • APU: Auxillary Propulstion Unit (aka paddle)
  • Breeches Buoy: A life ring with a canvas seat that looks like a pair of breeches (pants.)
